ITEM 1152

Item 1152: A very rare offering; an actual piece of the famous Tacoma, Washington Galloping Gertie bridge that collapsed in 1940. The main span fell, and this is from the side span that was mostly recycled during WW II for the war effort. Some parts, such as rivets, and bolts like this one were cut off in order to dismantle the larger bridge sections. The bolt was cut, as seen in the photo, and the nut is still as it was in 1940. This very unique item has a 3" nut on a 5" long bolt, and it is quite heavy. It includes a COA. A one-of-a-kind museum quality item, not found anywhere else!
