ITEM 1970 Item 1970: A genuine Civil War veteran pension paycheck issued by the United States Depository that features an engraving of Abraham Lincoln's Secretary of War; Edwin Stanton. This is the portrait that is also on some US currency notes (fractional currency), and postage stamps. The check was written for a soldier of the war, is dated 1903, and it's condition is very fine with punch cancel holes on the left side, clear of Stanton's portrait.
